Ownership and Franchise: Assassin's creed is an open-world video game franchise published by the company Ubisoft, with the creators of the franchise being Patrice Désilets , Jade Raymond , and Corey May. The Assassin's Creed franchise portrays a fictional millennia-old struggle between assassins (who fight for peace and free will) and  the Templars who desire peace through order and control. The series is inspired by historical events and science - like historical fiction, science fiction and characters are intertwined with real-world historical events and figures. for the majority of the time, players control an assassin in the past history, while also playing as Desmond miles or an assassin initiate in the present day, who hunt down their templar targets. This series was inspired by the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol whilst building upon the concept from the Prince of Persia series by Jordan Mechner.  Main games of Assassin's Creed  are set in an ope

The Man

Representation of gender: - Men are shown to be rather pompous - quite prideful, use of costume and facial expressions  - use of lighting helps with making the protag look more important and powerful - emphasis the stereotype that men are strong and work office jobs  (question: analyse the representation of gender in "the man" and "riptide" - 30 marks/1hr - 800 words+) Point:  use of stereotypes/  - Analyse the representation of gender in the music videos for "The Man " by Taylor Swift and  "Riptide " by Vance Joy In Taylor Swift’s the man and Vance joy’s riptide, both videos depict gender, mainly in a negative light through numerous stereotypes with the use of lighting, sound, costume, lyrics etc... For example, in riptide, women are heavily sexualised and represented as weak & feeble through the use of body language and acting as there’s a recurring theme of white women getting kidnapped and restrained then escaping straight away, indi

Rain For Good

Main Character: - Although at the beginning of the advert, she doesn't seem as happy as she's singing alone, gradually throughout the video- her voice becomes louder, and she has a happier expression as more people from her village join in with her singing  - at the start of the video, Claudia's voice is quite soft and quiet- indicating that there is a small amount of hope, but as the video goes on- more people join her, their voices all joining together to become one sound of hope- for the rain to come for clean water (convoying that hope pushes through despair) Representation of the UK:   In the advert, the UK is shown in the beginning stereotypically as the opening of the advert shows a radio playing a recording of a weatherman talking about the heavy showers, while the rain drowns out any background noise around the radio, linking back to the well-known stereotype that the UK usually rains and has a gloomy atmosphere. This is shown through different uses of lighting and

Dizzee Rascal's Dream

Narrative: -  Dizzie's rise to success (autobiographical) - genre: pop/grime, hip hop  - personal journey represented  - indicated the difference between white middle-class Britain and young multi-cultural Britain  Technical codes: Props: -  The video starts off with soft toy colours like baby blue, light green, baby pink etc.. suggests that the narrative and the video itself will be playful and Happy- a strong contrast from the stereotypes and true narrative of the video. hoodies are shown  - The puppets presented in the video further exaggerates the positive and happy narrative, mocking the genre of grime by undermining what it truly represents. The puppets being quite small compared to the woman ( as well as Dizzie) suggests that they have less importance compared to the older 'sensible' white woman that is controlling Dizzie's box.  Setting: -  The puppets (as well as Dizzie) being controlled by the older white woman show status is presented in the video, conveyin

How is Gender represented in this Advert?: In the 1950s, a company by the name of Alcoa aluminium produced an advert- showcasing their new aluminium bottle cap (on a Del monte ketchup bottle) in a rather belittling way towards women. Presented in the advert, is a young woman that fits the ‘ideal’ beauty standard of the 50s showing a rather amused/intrigued expression with a classic rouge lip look- holding the product that is being advertised. This advert enforces the sexist stereotype that women are ‘weak and fragile’ by mocking how women are incapable of opening something as simple as a ketchup bottle through the rhetorical question: ‘You mean a woman can open it?’. The advertisers knew that by putting an innocent and attractive woman in the advert- would make the product sell more, indicating that the target audience would be men. Not only are women being presented in multiple adverts (such as this one) in a derogatory way, but also they’re being infantilized, as the younger and i
